0 Samsung Ready to Sue Apple If iPhone 5 Has LTE

One week after the verdict in the Apple v. Samsung trial, Samsung is preparing to strike back. The company has made it very clear that it intends to sue Apple if it releases an LTE-capable iPhone.
After last week’s billion-dollar-plus ruling in favor of Apple, it’s easy to see why Samsung might be a little upset. But the company is making moves to protect its phone sales. Whether that means new software, hardware redesigns or continuing to duke it out in a court of law, Samsung will find some way to keep doing what it’s been doing.
Although a number of companies — Nokia in the lead — hold the necessary patents for LTE, Samsung has a significant claim on those, which could conceivably cause some major headaches for Apple.
While the iPhone 5 has long been rumored to feature LTE connectivity, there’s no certainty that Apple will make this move. But as other platforms adopt the technology, Apple needs to jump on the 4G bandwagon or risk losing a bit of its edge.
